Loaded Tooth Contact Analysis

June 13, 2024—Live Online Course, Anywhere

Evaluation of loaded tooth contact and development of tooth modifications using commercially available software to improve and apply a realistic load distribution factor Km in gear rating calculations. Two real life gearing examples will be presented in the course, one will have a cantilever mounted pinion, the other a shaft pinion straddled non-symmetrically by bearings. Both examples demonstrate component deflections under load which significantly reduce tooth mesh contact which is then corrected with developed helix and profile modifications.

Smart Move: Save Big with a CNC Recontrol

Smart Move: Save Big with a CNC Recontrol

It’s hard to stay competitive with older gear machines using outdated controls. New machines are often too costly a solution – and you’ll wait months for delivery. The smart move is an MTB Recontrol. In just three months, and for a relative fraction of a new machine investment, we can recontrol most CNC gear machines – and bring them up to profitable new performance levels.

Ensure Rapid External Grinding Processes in the Smallest of Spaces

Gear Technology

In many areas of application, it is uneconomical to use oversized universal cylindrical grinding machines for the external machining of smaller components--a lot of floor space is lost and the functionality is not fully utilized. With the new WPG 7 CNC external grinding machine, EMAG Weiss demonstrates another way of grinding workpieces with a maximum length of 250 millimeters.

Offering Clean Energy Around the Clock

Offering Clean Energy Around the Clock

MIT News

As remarkable as the rise of solar and wind farms has been over the last 20 years, achieving complete decarbonization is going to require a host of complementary technologies. That’s because renewables offer only intermittent power. They also can’t directly provide the high temperatures necessary for many industrial processes. Now, 247Solar is building high-temperature concentrated solar power systems that use overnight thermal energy storage to provide round-the-clock power and industrial-grade heat.
