Emotors Adopts Siemens’ Simcenter Solutions for NVH Testing of Next-Generation Automotive E-Drives
Siemens Digital Industries Software has announced that Emotors, an independent e-drive manufacturer, has taken advantage of test solutions from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio of industry software to aid in the development and constant improvement of its e-drive systems for hybrids, plug-ins and full electric vehicles (EVs).
Liebherr Offers Electric Drive Solutions for Construction Machinery
Compact and lightweight – such is the most common requirement for the gearboxes of emission-free, electric drives. With seven basic gearboxes, the LPI series by Liebherr fulfills exactly this need for high power density. With their low weight, reduced installation space and torque ranges from 20,000 Nm to 350,000 Nm, they are ideally suited as drives for crawler and crawler undercarriages. Customized large gearboxes are even available up to the maximum torque of 2,300,000 Nm.
SMT Examines Spline Rumble with MASTA
Spline rumble is characterized by a multiple low shaft order droning noise. It arises in electrified vehicle (EV) powertrains due to excitation at the spline connection between the motor rotor and the transmission input. It is caused by the interactions between manufacturing errors. In this article SMT will be looking at how MASTA can be used to predict rumble in a modern EV gearbox with a three-bearing input assembly layout.
