| Ovako Releases Sustainability Report |
Ovako has published its Sustainability Report for Financial Year 2025, its second report inspired by the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) framework. The report is independently assured by KPMG and presents audited ESG performance data, at a time when many industrial companies are scaling back sustainability commitments in response to cost pressures.

Every modified bearing life calculation leans on a value most engineers never see measured: how the lubricant's viscosity behaves at contact pressures. Published high-pressure data for commercial oils is scarce, so reference models stand in. In "The Impact of High-Pressure Rheology on Bearing Life Predictions," David Casey (The Timken Company) reports high-pressure viscometry on single-sourced mineral oils across seven ISO viscosity grades, comparing the resulting pressure-viscosity coefficients against the mineral oil models published in ISO and AGMA documents — and quantifying how model error carries through to the life modification factors in ISO 281. For anyone who signs off on an L10 number, it is a look at the assumptions underneath. He presents Tuesday, Oct. 6, in Track 1, Session 2: Efficiency, Tribology.
